This tool will estimate the light output at a normalized 1 meter distance based on a desired exposure setting and subject distance. The intent is to use this to estimate whether a light will provide sufficient illumination to be useful in a given situation.

Note, the estimator assumes a desired operating point of between 2 and 3 stops below the light’s maximum output in order to maximize flexibility.
